The GOAT 🐐 of 5th round QBs?

It may have been just because they were playing the Carolina Panthers, but 🗣️ word on the street 🗣️ is that even the Carolina fans were cheering 🎉 for Shedeur Sanders last week in his (preseason) debut for the Cleveland Browns. Sanders surely didn’t disappoint in his debut, throwing for almost 140 yards and 2️⃣ touchdowns! In fact, his performance assured us of two things: (1) the Browns QB room would be a perfect candidate for a reality T.V. show (given all of the drama in and around it 😳) and (2) the NFL regular season can’t get here fast enough!
Doesn’t this Shedeur experience just perfectly capture why we love the preseason? Players on the bubble get a chance to prove themselves, and we get to wet our appetite for football before the buffet 🍴 starts in late August (for CFB) and early September (for NFL)! As your favorite teams prepare to make a run for a championship, we hope you are also preparing to beat the books this season 💪🏻

Notwithstanding the fact that Mr. Brady himself (aka The GOAT 🐐) was drafted in the later rounds of the NFL Draft, it remains the case that players - especially QBs - drafted in the later rounds of the draft do not usually bear the weight of high expectations. With that said, given the circumstances (and hype/notoriety) around Shedeur Sanders, it appears that expectations for Primetime’s son remain (at least somewhat) high, especially for a QB drafted in the 5th round!
This reality made us wonder: Who is the best QB to have been drafted in the 5th round? Do you know the answer?? (Hint: This player’s career really took off once he was traded from the team that drafted him.)
