🏈 Mr. Flacco's Neighborhood 🏠

Hi BettrNation family! This weekend’s matchups haven’t even kicked off yet, and we’ve already had some fireworks 🎆 this week in the football world! On Thursday night, Joe Flacco - less than 10 days after being traded to the Cincinnati Bengals 🐅 - blew open the AFC North race after leading his new team to an upset victory over the Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Whether it is with the Ravens, Browns, or the Bengals, it appears 40-year-old Flacco still seems right at home 🏠 in the AFC North (and we bet Mike Tomlin is even more angry at the Browns after Thursday night!). As if the TNF game wasn’t a good enough appetizer for this weekend’s matchups, #2 Miami Hurricanes 🌀 also lost last night to the Louisville Cardinals - primarily because Carson Beck reverted back to his shaky form from last season and threw four (!) picks. With this upset last night, we have yet another week with a top 🔟 team losing - and the weekend action hasn’t even started yet!

Speaking of this weekend’s action, there are a number of exciting 👏🏻 matchups, including some headliners in the SEC like LSU-Vandy, UGA-Ole Miss, and Tenn-Alabama. If the last two days are any indication, we are in for a (pre-Halloween) treat 🍬 this weekend. There also appears to be a number of mispriced opportunities in the market, so not only can you enjoy some good football all weekend - but you may just be able to win some money while you do (although it may not be as much as Curt Cignetti just found with his new deal with Indiana) 😜 As always, remember friends, don’t gamble - bet bettr!

Fresh off his upset of then #3 Oregon (at Oregon!), Curt Cignetti locked in an 8-year, $93 million contract extension with the Indiana Hoosiers this week! While basketball may always be #1 in the hearts of Hoosier Nation, this move certainly demonstrates Indiana’s attempt to remain relevant in the CFB world for the foreseeable future. While we suspect that the timing of this move may also have something to do with the recent opening at that other Big 10 School over in (Not So) Happy Valley, Pennsylvania, it remains to be seen whether Indiana can keep up this momentum - or if they will fall under the weight of these higher expectations, like they did at the end of last year. In any event, given the staggering numbers in that contract, it made us wonder: Where does this new contract place Cignetti on the list of the highest-paid CFB coaches? Do you know the answer??
